Two Artists Living in Lambertville; A Gallery Show
October 4th - November 15th
Cathy Begg and Stephen Harris, two artists living in Lambertville, will be presenting their diverse work at the Lambertville Library from October 4th– Nov 15th. The Two Artists of Lambertville show will feature their interpretation of the river and trains that were central to the city's historical background.
The Delaware River and the canal were important elements for this once-industrial town, further aided by the arrival of the train. Now the river is primarily for leisure and sport, and the city is a much-acclaimed tourist destination with
a vibrant arts community.
a vibrant arts community.
Cathy, owner of the 43 Canal Studio in New Hope, will be presenting her engaging and inspiring metal works, which are created by staining and applying salts/chemicals to recycled “1940 copper printing plates”, which creates a truly one-of-a-kind art, with some pieces framed with upcycled wood.
Stephen, a professional photographer with a studio in Lambertville, will display a mixed media that incorporates his local photography with metal reclaiming from the Lambertville “Graffiti Train”, which for years was a destination for artists and teenagers. The abandoned and decaying train often served as a backdrop for portraits, album covers, and creative photography.
The show will be hosted by the Lambertville Library located at 6 Lilly St, Lambertville. Hours are posted on their website: lambertvillelibrary.org.
An opening reception will be on Wednesday, October 4th @ 6:30 – 8:30 PM.
